NVDIA the new Wintel
NVDIA*, the leading maker of GPU (Graphic Processing Unit), blew market expectations on their revenues and, importantly, they changed the analysts’ mindset about their positioning for AI. To make a long story short, NVDIA not only leads in GPU but they accelerate their AI computing power by combining GPUs with in-house software.
Any company (Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon etc.) willing to participate in AI need NVDIA accelerator. The PC age was dominated by Microsoft and Intel as expressed by the name Wintel (referring to Windows and Intel). NVDI is the “wintel” of artificial intelligence.
Remy Cointreau FY 2022-23 results
Remy Cointreau*, a French company engaged in the production of wine and spirits came with strong results: Thanks to selective prices increases, the premiumization of the group continues. For the first time, the liquor division grew (35.6%) faster than Cognac (25.5%) confirming the emergence of new growth engines beside Cognac: Eric Vallat, the CEO, was especially bullish on The Botanist brand building strong market share in the high-end gin segment. Eric Vallat also confirmed that he was well ahead of his strategic 2030 plan announced when he took over as CEO back in 2020.
Other interesting comments were: Bullish on H2 2023 recovery in the US and very bullish on China recovery post Covid mentioning “revenge living” behavior in China.
